PlayStation Showcase 2021: All the Biggest Trailers and Announcements

September 10, 2021

There was a lot of hype for the PlayStation 2021 Showcase, which livestreamed Thursday evening. Fortunately, Sony lived up to the hype. And we’ve got the definitive roundup of all the biggest trailers and announcements!

Knights of the Old Republic Remake

Arguably the biggest announcement of the show was that Knights of the Old Republic is officially getting a remake. Aside from this official announcement and the fact that the game will be on PS5, we don’t currently have any more info on this anticipated title.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine

If you like Marvel games, you’re in luck. Insomniac is releasing a sequel to their hit Spider-Man game for PS5 in 2023 in which the wallcrawler fights Venom. On top of that, Insomniac is also working on a new Wolverine game, though details about the game are mum.

God of War: Ragnarok

The God of War reboot was a major hit among fans. And now, after what feels like an eternity of waiting, we have a trailer for the sequel, which is due next year!

Forspoken

We don’t know much about Forspoken aside from the fact that it combines fast-paced action and intense magical spells. But judging from the trailer, this will be a title worth checking out when it launches next spring.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

If you like casting spells, you’re likely to enjoy Wonderlands, which is basically a fantasy spinoff of the successful Borderlands series. Time to mark your calendar: Tiny Tina is unleashing this world of wonder on us on March 25, 2022!

Alan Wake Remastered

The fact that Alan Wake is getting a remaster is old news. But this trailer for the game has us getting hyped all over again. It will release on October 5.

Uncharted Remasters

Speaking of remakes, two Uncharted games (A Thief’s End and Lost Legacy) are getting remastered. You’ll be able to play them on PS5 and, surprisingly enough, on PC once they release next year.

Gran Turismo 7

If you feel the need for speed, then you’re likely already a big fan of the Gran Turismo series. In that case, the trailer for Gran Turismo 7 might be enough to tide you over until the game releases on March 4, 2022.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Ghostwire: Tokyo is coming out next spring for both PS5 and PC. Aside from the trailer looking absolutely stunning, it’s not clear what this title will be about.

Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V, along with GTA Online, will be making its debut on the PS5 in March 2022. Fans are excited for shorter loading times, but it’s not clear how much better a next-gen console can make this 2013 game look.

That’s it for the biggest announcements and trailers. Which one are you most hyped for? Let us know in the comments!
